Donald J. Trump has officially been inaugurated as the 47th President of the United States, with Chief Justice John Roberts of the Supreme Court administering the oath of office.

The ceremony took place inside the US Capitol Rotunda, accompanied by the traditional presidential anthem, “Hail to the Chief.”

Earlier, Vice President J.D. Vance was also sworn in by Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh.

During his inaugural address, Trump declared that his election represents a mandate to reverse the "betrayals" of the past four years. “From this moment forward, America’s decline ends,” he asserted.

He reflected on the challenges faced during his political journey, referencing an attempt on his life at a campaign event in Butler, Pennsylvania, the previous July. “I was spared by God to lead this mission and restore America’s greatness,” he proclaimed.

Trump also announced plans to sign multiple executive orders immediately, promising what he described as a “revolution of common sense.”

He pledged to declare a “national emergency” at the southern border, aiming to halt illegal immigration and deploy military forces to address what he called an “invasion” of the country. He further vowed that “illegal entry will stop at once,” and millions of unauthorized immigrants would be deported.

On foreign policy, Trump emphasized prioritizing peace, stating that the nation’s strength would be measured by “the conflicts we avoid and the wars we bring to an end.”
