Qatar and Syria signed a memorandum of understanding on Sunday to increase transport rights and enhance cooperation in the field of civil aviation.
Qatar News Agency said that the person in charge of running the affairs of the General Authority of Civil Aviation in the State of Qatar, Mohammed Faleh Al-Hajri, met with the head of the General Authority of Civil Aviation in Syria, Ashhad Al-Salibi, to discuss ways to enhance cooperation in the field of civil aviation between the two countries.
During the meeting, which was held in the Qatari capital, Doha, a memorandum of understanding was signed that aims to increase air transport rights between Syria and Qatar. Ways to enhance cooperation in the field of civil aviation services, including air navigation, infrastructure, and cooperation in the field of training and development, were also discussed.
It is noteworthy that a Qatari passenger plane landed last month at Damascus International Airport for the first time in about 13 years, on the first day of the resumption of international flights in Syria.
